Guinness Miracle Hill is home to a World Record Hole in One

On Oct 7, 1965 a 21 year old, 5'6" 165lb man named Robert "Bob" Mitera made a 444 yard hole in one on hole number 10.  Being a two handicap player, he normally hit drives around 245 yards.  On that day in October, a 50 mph wind gust carried his shot past a 290 yard drop off.  The group in front testified to the remaining distance.

A commerative plaque is placed where Mitera recorded his Ace.  This record is the longest "as the crow flys" hole in one.  More recent and reportedly longer holes in one, were on dog-legs and not straight shots.
